My personal check-in....

  • Wins:  I want to share just how inspired I am by you. Every day you are out there in the world, with me, trying your best to align with your heart's wisdom, using your skills, gifts, and talents in service to this fearful world. Every day you inspire me to listen a little more deeply, expand my compassion for myself and others, experiment with new technologies, and implement the lessons I've been learning.  I'm stretching myself this month, inspired by the theme: Radical Visibility- Fearlessly, Authentically Me. I'm moving from conducting my group coaching over the phone to Zoom, so I can be seen and I can see you!
  • Challenges:  How can I best serve you and my larger community?  I've taken some creative and financial risks in order to expand my offerings. I'm at that point where I've spent countless hours and dollars on training, and now is the time to shift from the horizontal development of pursuing the next certification and propel myself into the vertical development of a higher quality and scope of service.  I struggle with resistance in the form of procrastination and self-doubt.  In my quiet moments of discernment, I ask how best to support myself so that I can support others.
  • Brainstorms:   What I need to accept is that coaches need to be coached.  What has happened since I confessed to myself that I feel lost and invisible in what feels like an overwhelming sea of coaching gurus, and that I worry I'm not reaching those who are in pain....well, I surrendered and asked for help.  From that place of uncomfortable but sincere vulnerability, powerful coaches and mentors have answered my distress call.  Because I know the powerful wisdom that comes when we open up to receive guidance,  I eagerly snatched up the refining points that came through their expertise and knowledge.
  • Commitments:  I am committing to my self-care, to the expression of my talents, to asking for what I need in order to grow, to deepening my relationships inside this community with you. I am committing to being seen, to making powerful offers from a place of Divine Confidence and Courage.  I am committing to cultivating the Sacred Genius in me to guide my LIFE and this Sacred School called The Way of Truth: Sacred Play/Sacred Relationships/Sacred Success.

Remembering, by Julia Cameron

I was not there when your mother bore you.

Surely you came to this world, hungering and wet,

We all do that.

Surely you came like the rest of us

From that dark sea of souls,

That sighing that brings us forth

And calls us back--- we all share that.

If this is true, and it is--- even for you---

Why are you a broken glass smashed against

The floor?  Why not the sea's grass on

The ocean floor?  Why not a smooth stone, a willow

In the wind?   Why do you break, not bend, and

Even broken, why not mend?  You do know how.

Walk with me to the edge of the city.

Take off your shoes and feel the earth.

It is softer than a woman.

It is safer than your father.

It is water.  It is air.

With this yearning you can't name.

Cast off your shame.  It is an old coat.

Remember who you are.  You are a star,

A mountain, that fountain in the sun.

Your heart is the velvet cave

Where birds sing.

Are you remembering?

Cultivate the Sacred Genius in You

I think people spend WAY too much time trying to compensate for their weaknesses. Seriously, there is so much that we’re GOOD at…why do we focus so much on fixing the “bad” stuff?

I propose a challenge: Today, every time you catch yourself trying to compensate for your weaknesses, turn your attention to the things that you’re REALLY GOOD at, and find ways to get EVEN BETTER.

For example, if you start trying to figure out your taxes and it’s giving you a headache, pick up your guitar (if that’s your thing) and practice your favorite tune. Then pick up the phone, call a CPA & hire her to crunch those numbers for you.

Once that’s done, pat yourself on the back because YOU just took a step away from mediocrity and toward excellence!
